Welcome to Kaloh winery. We are the third generation of winemakers from the Stolni vrh hills above Maribor.

From dawn to dusk our vineyards bask in the warm Styrian sun and Stolni vrh, with its sheltered south-side position, provides an ideal combination of rich soil and temperate microclimate.

Our carefully selected vines are part of our family. We nurture them with love, dedication and respect for what they give us. We let them savour nature’s generosity so every berry is filled with goodness.

A wealth of knowledge, which we keep expanding, combined with “a certain something” handed down through generations, have resulted in superior quality and distinct rich flavours of our wines. Our Wines

Due to the exceptional location of our vineyards, professional care and years of experience our grapes easily reach the sugar level required for late harvest, selection, berry selection, dry berry selection and ice harvest.

Our speciality are predicate wines, rich wines with a unique harmony of acidity, sugar and alcohol – wines for connoisseurs.

Our wines have received a number of national and international awards and several grand gold medals. We are particularly proud of our achievement at the international wine competition in Split, where experts from all over the world placed three of our wines among the five top-ranking wines. No one, not even a big wine cellar, has come close to matching this achievement.

A hay-yellow wine, with a pleasant smell reminiscent of fruit tree blossoms. A very elegant flavour with gentle mineral notes and zesty acidity, which highlights the qualities of this noble variety. A medium intense finish with crisp mineral Riesling notes.

Viticulture

We are committed to environmentally friendly viticulture and aim for fully organic production. We pick our grapes by hand, avoid shortcuts and stay away from chemicals. We do not use herbicides and pesticides in our vineyards. Our vineyards are mowed so as not to poison the soil. They say that if you treat nature well it will repay you in kind. Our wines are a testimony that this is indeed the case.

In our wine cellar, which was built by our grandfather in 1938, up to 20,000 litres of wine can be stored. Our wine is stored in stainless steel barrels. Our visitors never fail to be impressed by the cellar vestibule, which is given character by ironwork masterpieces and where a candlelight wine tasting is transformed into an unforgettable experience.

Tourism

To help you choose the right wine we prepare a wine tasting, during which you learn everything you need to know about wines, test your taste buds and discover new flavours, aromas, smells. All wines can be purchased, either in bulk or in bottles.

You can sample selected products of local farmers, which are part of our cold cuts platters. Our large bright dining room with an open fire is big enough to host a large group and can be hired for a private celebration.

For those of you who would like to take a short break from everyday life and obligations, there are bright and comfortable rooms where you will immediately feel at home. We have two double rooms and one triple room, all with en-suite bathroom, TV and free WIFI.
